Mural by Marian Bailey!

If you’ve visited our Fishtown shop you may have noticed a big beautiful mural by local artist, friend, and official Ice Cream Ambassador, Marian Bailey. Installed mere weeks into the pandemic [April 2020] most folks were only familiar with the artwork from our Instagram posts. Since we’ve fully reopened the shop to customers in the Fall of 2021 you’re now able to enjoy the mural along with your treats 6 days a week.

Marian moved to Philly 5 years ago from Durham, NC after attending college at the University of NC in Wilmington for a degree in clinical research. After moving to Philly art became a focus for them, as they began to create smaller works, as well as paint murals. We were lucky enough to meet Marian as a customer shortly after our Fishtown shop opened, which eventually led to working together on a creative project. Inspired by a trip to the midwest, Marian had been drawing cows which caught Andy’s eye. Together they visited Seven Stars Farm & Camp Hill Village in March 2020 to gather more inspiration for the mural. The rest is history!

Marian has continued to work on murals with Mural Arts Philadelphia and through private commissions. They have also expanded into design work, including a can for our friends Triple Bottom Brewing. You can check out more of their work here!
