Meet The owner of Weckerly’s
Cristina Torres is the owner of Weckerly’s Ice Cream, a Philadelphia-based creamery known for its small-batch ice cream made with locally sourced ingredients. Each scoop is a reflection of her dedication to quality, sustainability, and community from the house-pasteurized dairy to the handmade mix-ins.
Originally from Texas and raised in Idaho, Cristina’s career path took her through finance, accounting, and consulting in both Dallas and Philadelphia. Now, she proudly calls Philly home (and yes, she's a huge Eagles fan). She combines her analytical expertise with a creative vision in her work at Weckerly’s.
Since taking over the business full-time, Cristina has guided Weckerly’s through thoughtful growth—expanding wholesale partnerships, opening a retail space at King of Prussia Mall, and preparing to launch a new location in Rittenhouse. The Rittenhouse shop is an exciting next step, offering Weckerly’s signature small-batch experience to a new community in the heart of the city.
Cristina’s work is grounded in a deep respect for craftsmanship and a belief that something as simple as a scoop of ice cream can bring real joy. She’s driven by a commitment to quality and a hope that Weckerly’s becomes a cherished part of people’s everyday moments—a favorite stop, a little tradition, something to look forward to. For Cristina, it’s not just about what’s in the cone, it’s about the feeling it leaves behind.
