Meet Baker Extraordinaire, Christine Ruxton.
Our ice cream sandwiches wouldn’t be the same without the perfectly paired cookies, and we have Christine to thank for them and so much more! She’s been responsible for all of the tasty cookies, yummy mix-in’s, toppings, sauces, and even our heavenly scented cone batter for the past 2 years for Weckerly’s. Some stand out specials that Christine has made (or decorated!) have been the Ice Cream Cone ice cream sandwiches, Turkey Sandwiches, all of the beautifully decorated sandwich cake cookies (otherwise known as joconde), hot fudge sauce, the brownies and mulberry pies for Sunday Sundaes… It is a never ending list of delicious treats that she has created!
Some of her favorite items she’s had a hand in at the creamery are the Halloween special sandwiches because everyone can create the flavors reminiscent of their childhood. Also coming up with really inventive mix in’s and cookies for our most recent collaborations - like the cornbread croutons for PIE BUDDY. Which. Were. INCREDIBLE! Her personal Weckerly’s flavor favorites are COOKIES & CREAM and the BUTTER PECAN ice cream sandwich, which we can all agree have the best cookies in them 😍
Baking doesn’t stop when she leaves the Weckerly’s creamery at the end of the day. She loves baking at home (while listening to True Crime podcasts) and making (and eating) cheesecake. This past year Christine got a Tastykake pie (accompanied by a monarch butterfly) tattoo on her arm to memorialize her late Mom-Mom. Her favorite snack were Tastykake pies and always had a stash of them in her kitchen, a classic Philadelphia treat!
